Honoring our Mother Earth on this special day!

#EarthDay2018 #EndPlasticPollution

Earth Day.... A day to honor our home Planet Earth and demonstrate support for environmental protection.  First celebrated on April 22, 1970, Earth Day events are help worldwide in more than 193 countries.

Earth Day 2018 focuses on bringing awareness to end plastic pollution. So what better way to show our love and support to Mother Earth than by joining a clean up!

The Earth Day Festival Mangrove Clean Up was a huge success!  More than 50 volunteers from all over South Florida came to Marathon in the Florida Keys to help clean the mangroves.

Marine debri collected was separated into recyclables and trash.  Two giant trucks were filled top to bottom, one with plastic, glass and aluminum cans the were taken to a recycling facility and the other with non-recycable items such as styrofoam that were disposed of properly.

A special thank you to all the volunteers, Otherside Boardsports and Keys Cable Adventure Park for hosting the event and Tarte Cosmetics for sponsoring the mangrove clean up.  It warms our heart to see the community come together to make a difference for our beloved planet.
