MG Surfline Earth Day Clean Up
04/22/2017

Celebrate Earth Day every day!

Honoring our planet by cleaning our local beaches.

To honor Mother Earth we decided to organize beach clean ups at our local beaches on Earth Day and encouraged others to do the same.  Overall we held 3 clean ups:

1. Co-founder, Alexandra Menk, organized her clean up at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, during the Carolina Cup SUP race.  Most of the competitors joined Alex and her efforts, filling up 2 of our MG Surfline Clean Up sacks with 93 plastic bottles that we were able to recover and use for our waterwear!

2.  Co-founder and professional kitesurfer, Melissa Gil, organized her clean up at her local 'kite beach' in Juno Beach, FL.  Friends and volunteers helped Meli to clean her beach.  The combined trash collected filled 3 of our MG Surfline Clean up sacks.  Most of the trash collected was small pieces of plastic, bottle caps, cigarrette butts, and styrofoam pieces, but also some larger items such as plastic bags, cans, glass bottles and a couple plastic bottles.  We sorted the trash, recycled what we could and recovered 2 plasic bottles to recycle and reuse.

3.  Brand ambassador, Lizi Ruiz, organized her clean up in Miami, FL.  Lizi and her husband collected a bunch of cigarrette butts, plastic bottle caps, beer caps, plastic bags and more debri floating in the canal.

Thank you to all our friends and volunteers for coming to our #MGEarthDayCleanUp!

AND THANK YOU FOR JOINING US IN OUR MISSION FOR A PLASTIC FREE OCEAN!
